HISTORY:
This 50-year-old female referred for MRI subsequent to referral by ophthalmologist.
(QUIZ ANSWER) PRIMARY FINDING:
Intracranial hypertension.

FINDINGS:
Jugular bulbs are patent. Right transverse sigmoid sinus is patent but attenuated. Attenuated left jugular bulb is patent. Attenuation of the left transverse sinus. Torcular herophili is patent. Straight sinus, vein of Galen, internal cerebral veins are patent. Superior sagittal sinus is patent to the approximate level of the coronal suture. Sinuses are small.
IMPRESSION:
No supportive findings of venous sinus thrombosis or obstruction but sinuses are small. Attenuation of the transverse sinuses may be seen in association with intracranial hypertension and could be relevant in the described setting of papilledema.
