HISTORY:
This 72-year-old male presents with prostate cancer. PSA of 1.53.
PRIMARY FINDING:
PI-RADS I.
FINDINGS:
The prostate measures 4.5cm in transverse dimension, 3.2cm in AP dimension and 3.5cm in craniocaudal dimension with a calculated bullet volume of 33mL. The PSA density is 0.046.
Ill-defined mild hypointensity in the peripheral zone. No areas of restricted diffusion. The transitional zone is normal in size. Moderate nonmass-like hypointensity in the transitional zone likely represents stromal hyperplasia. The capsule intact. Neurovascular bundle intact. Seminal vesicles within normal limits.
No lymphadenopathy in the visualized pelvis. No focal suspicious osseous lesions.
CONCLUSION:
No MRI evidence of aggressive prostate carcinoma. PI-RADS 1 by MRI. Given biopsy-proven prostate cancer, equivalent of BI-RADS 6 in breast cancer.
