<div>HISTORY:&#160;This 31-year-old male presents with right thigh pain, and history of fracture.(QUIZ ANSWER) HERNIATION IS SEEN IN:&#160;Vastus lateralis.Using the&#160;diagnostic web viewer, we have provided images that assist in telling our clinical story. Areas of significance are indicated below.FINDINGS: Susceptibility artifact is identified in the distal aspect of the right femur from prior hardware placement. A well-formed callus identified in the proximal right femur. Bone marrow signal is appropriate. No soft tissue masses are identified. Signal characteristics of the muscle are normal. Slight architectural distortion of the soft tissues near the distal aspect of the vastus lateralis is consistent with prior surgery. No muscular strain is noted.&#160;A muscular herniation is identified. There is a small punctate tear in the fascia measuring approximately 9mm. A 1cm x 1cm area of the vastus lateralis muscle is herniated through this defect. No edema is identified in the musculature. The region of muscle herniation is just beneath a skin dimple which may have been a postsurgical scar.&#160;CONCLUSION:&#160;1. Healed femoral fracture without complication.&#160;2. Small 1cm muscle herniation of the vastus lateralis muscle.</div>
