DIAGNOSIS: Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH)

EXAM: Pelvis radiograph (X-ray)

INDICATION: 13-month-old girl with hip click.

TECHNIQUE: Single AP view of the pelvis was obtained.

FINDINGS:

2 view radiographs of the pelvis reveal severe superolateral dislocation of the left femoral head, which does not reduce on frog leg views. The left femoral head is asymmetrically small. There is coxa valga deformity of the left proximal femur.

There is a dysplastic and shallow left acetabulum, and also a small pseudoacetabulum on the left.

Right hip joint is intact without subluxation.

IMPRESSIONS:

Nonreducible superolateral left hip dislocation, with a dysplastic and shallow left acetabulum and small pseudoacetabulum.
Normal right hip.
