DIAGNOSIS: Wilms Tumor

EXAM: US Renal and Bladder

INDICATION: 25 month-old male with renal mass noted on right upper quadrant ultrasound.

TECHNIQUE: Ultrasound imaging of the kidneys and urinary bladder was obtained using two-dimensional grayscale imaging. Color Doppler images were obtained to evaluate vascular flow.

FINDINGS:

The right kidney measures 7.1 cm in length.

There is a new solid mass in the mid to lower pole of the right kidney, measuring 4.3 x 4.1 x 3.8 cm and demonstrating internal flow, concerning for a neoplasm.

There is no hydronephrosis or other sign of urinary tract obstruction.

The left kidney measures 6.8 cm in length. The left renal parenchyma appears normal.

There is no hydronephrosis or other sign of urinary tract obstruction.

The ureters and urinary bladder appear normal.

IMPRESSIONS:

New 4.3 cm solid mass in the right kidney, most concerning for Wilms tumor. Recommend further evaluation with CT chest, abdomen, and pelvis with intravenous contrast.
