Course Description

Challenge yourself with Head CT Perfusion Cases from Dr. Francis Deng!

Join Dr. Francis Deng (Johns Hopkins) as he reviews a series of fundamental cases that utilize head CT Perfusion, noncontrast CT, and CTA, and the imaging features he looks for to make his diagnosis. Read alongside him as he provides essential interpretation pearls and pitfalls on these cases, which will help you gain confidence in making these decisions in your own practice.

Dr. Deng also includes a helpful breakdown of each of the diagnoses, and both well-established and emerging possible indications and uses of CT perfusion.

Test yourself to determine:

  • The ASPECTS score for a patient presenting with stroke-like symptoms?
  • How long after subarachnoid hemorrhage is peak incidence/severity of vasospasm?
  • Is the diagnosis for a patient’s stroke-like symptoms acute MCA infarct, Todd paresis, or venous sinus thrombosis?
  • In the case of a patient with altered mental status, which diagnosis is likely: transient ischemic attack, cerebral venous thrombosis, or posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome?
  • …and more!

Expert Case Review Overview

Expert Case Reviews offer a high yield, case-focused learning module that will help you gain confidence interpreting advanced imaging cases.

Read alongside Radiology mentors who want to help you fine-tune your search patterns and work through your list of differential diagnoses.

How to navigate each Case topic:

  • Test Yourself Before starting the video, launch the DICOM study and complete your independent review of the case in our diagnostic web viewer.
  • Read alongside Dr. Deng Keep the DICOM study open while you watch Dr. Deng review the case. We suggest popping the DICOM viewer open in a new window and viewing side by side with the video on your screen.
  • Review at your own pace – Utilize the video player features to pause, rewind, and slow down the video to work through the case at your own pace.

After you’re done, check out these additional Stroke/Vascular Imaging Courses for further in-depth case review:
