PATIENT HISTORY: Dilated CBD

MRI ABDOMEN W WO IV CONTRAST MRCP

INDICATION: Cholelithiasis dilated CBD.

COMPARISON: None.

TECHNIQUE: MRI of the abdomen was performed with and without contrast.

Coronal 3-D MRCP images were obtained.

FINDINGS

Hepatobiliary: Liver is mildly steatotic. There is intrahepatic and extra hepatic biliary dilatation secondary to an impacted stone in the distal CBD. CBD measures 1 cm. Some sludge is also seen in the intrapancreatic CBD. Gallstones are also present without any secondary findings of acute cholecystitis

Pancreas: There is mild peripancreatic inflammation around the head is suspicious for pancreatitis

Spleen: Unremarkable.

Adrenal glands: Unremarkable.

Kidneys: Unremarkable.

Bowel: Visualized bowel is unremarkable.

Upper abdominal lymph nodes: No lymphadenopathy.

Peritoneum: No abscess.

IMPRESSION:

1. Biliary obstruction secondary to choledocholithiasis.

2. Cholelithiasis without secondary findings of acute cholecystitis.

3. Imaging findings suggesting mild pancreatitis.

4. Mild hepatic steatosis.
