HISTORY:

This 31-year-old male presents with papilledema. Hit head on a car door. No current symptoms.

(QUIZ ANSWER) PRIMARY FINDING IN THIS CASE:

Right TMJ: Dysfunction with anterior dislocation of the degenerative meniscus.

Using the diagnostic web viewer, we have provided images that assist in telling our clinical story. Areas of significance are indicated below.

FINDINGS:

Closed-mouth view shows anterior displacement of the temporomandibular joint meniscus and partial recapture on the open-mouth view. Findings are most compatible with TMJ dysfunction. No arthropathy of the mandibular condyle or fracture is identified.

CONCLUSION:

Right TMJ dysfunction with anterior dislocation of the degenerative meniscus with perhaps only partial recapture on the open-mouth view.
