Introduction to Gallbladder

0:01

Warm greetings to all the viewers.

0:02

My name is Mahan Mathur.

0:04

I'm an associate professor of radiology and

0:06

biomedical imaging at the Yale School of Medicine.

0:09

I work in the division of body imaging.

0:12

And this master course that we're going

0:14

to go through will cover a variety of

0:16

pathologies involving the gallbladder.

0:19

And it's going to be focused on the MR

0:21

imaging appearance of many of these findings.

0:25

And the cases that we're going to go through

0:27

can be organized, and we're going to,

0:29

I'm going to organize them into three broad groups.

0:32

The first will just be the normal imaging appearance of the

0:35

gallbladder, gallstones, gallbladder sludge, et cetera.

0:40

Um, this will also include some common

0:43

and some uncommon gallbladder variants.

0:45

The second group of cases will cover

0:48

inflammatory conditions of the gallbladder,

0:50

including some of the complications that you

0:52

can see associated with these conditions.

0:54

23 00:00:55,515 --> 00:00:56,495 And last but not least, we're

0:56

going to cover gallbladder masses.

0:58

Some of these masses will be benign,

1:00

some of these masses will be malignant.

1:03

All of the cases I, uh, show you today,

1:05

I hope will be interesting, um,

1:07

and informative to the radiology education.

1:11

So with that, let's dive deep into normal

1:14

anatomic, uh, features of the gallbladder.
