Report

Patient History
78-year-old asymptomatic woman with an incidental cardiac mass found on CT.

Findings
3cm well circumscribed soft tissue mass in the left atrium attached to the distal interatrial septum and the atrial side of the anterior mitral valve leaflet. The mass prolapses into the left ventricle in diastole and is causing functional mitral valve stenosis. The mass is intermediate to low in signal intensity on T1 weighted imaging and of a higher signal of T2 fat saturated imaging. There is no enhancement on 1st pass perfusion and patchy areas of enhancement on late gadolinium enhancement imaging.

Impressions
Non aggressive cardiac mass likely a benign left atrial myxoma.
