PATIENT HISTORY: Abdominal pain, weight loss

CT ABDOMEN PELVIS W IV CONTRAST

INDICATION: Pancreatic cancer.

COMPARISON: None.

TECHNIQUE: CT images of the abdomen and pelvis were obtained after the administration of intravenous contrast.

FINDINGS:
Lung bases: Visualized lung bases are clear.

Hepatobiliary: Unremarkable.

Pancreas: There is a neoplasm involving the neck, body, and portion of the tail of the pancreas measuring approximately 4.8 cm. The neoplasm involves the splenic artery and is in very close proximity to the bifurcation of the celiac axis into the splenic artery and hepatic artery, as well as the hepatic artery. The neoplasm occludes the splenic vein and SMV, and numerous collaterals are present. The SMA is not involved. The portal vein is patent.

Spleen: Mildly enlarged.

Adrenal glands: Unremarkable.

Kidneys: Subcentimeter right renal lesions which are too small to characterize

Bowel: No bowel obstruction.

Abdominal and pelvic lymph nodes: No lymphadenopathy.

Peritoneum: Nonspecific increased attenuation of the mesentery is noted. No measurable carcinomatosis.

Vasculature: No abdominal aortic aneurysm.

Pelvis: No mass.

Musculoskeletal system and soft tissue: No aggressive osseous lesion.

IMPRESSION:

Pancreatic neoplasm as described.
