Patient History
Melanoma.
Findings
Total body PET was performed from the skull base. The CT was performed without intravenous contrast. The axial fused images demonstrate a focal area of increased uptake involving the lateral aspect of the right neck posterior to the right parotid gland. This abnormal uptake is associated with a right suboccipital lymph node which is just inferior to the mastoid tip. In addition, there are multiple lymph nodes involving the left axilla. There is also a focal area of abnormal uptake involving the left acromioclavicular joint which is likely degenerative. No other focal areas of abnormal uptake are identified.
Patient has a right-sided pacemaker.
Conclusions
1. Right-sided metastatic lymph node suspicious for metastatic melanoma.
2. Multiple enlarged left axillary lymph nodes which are suspicious for metastatic melanoma given the patient's history.
