Patient History
Chronic headaches.
Findings
Frontal Sinus: Well-developed and well-aerated.
Ethmoid Sinuses: Well-developed and well-aerated.
Sphenoid Sinus: Well-developed and well-aerated.
Maxillary Sinuses: Underpneumatized with incomplete formation of the bilateral alveolar recesses.
Nasal cavity: Right-sided septal deviation with a nasal spur abutting right inferior and inferior portion of right middle turbinate. These findings may represent contact point should be correlated with Sluder's syndrome in the proper clinical scenario.
Anterior Skull Base: No evidence of aggressive lesions eroding the anterior skull base. No evidence of encephalocele. Cribriform plate is intact.
Visualization of the brain demonstrates prominence of the ventricles which is more than expected for patient's stated age of 23 years old. Dedicated brain CT or MR is necessary for complete diagnostic evaluation.
Conclusions
1. Right-sided septal deviation with nasal spur abutting right inferior and inferior portion of right middle turbinate. This contact point should be correlated with Sluder's syndrome in the proper clinical scenario, especially in patient with chronic headaches.
2. Prominence of the ventricles is more than expected for patient's stated age of 23 years old and can be further evaluated with brain CT or MR.
