Wk 4, Case 4 - Review

Patient History: 50-year-old male with anterolateral hip pain.
Findings
SKELETAL: Short femoral neck with asphericity is associated with an alpha angle of 62.89 degrees. A small superolateral acetabular ossicle is present along the lateral most acetabular rim.

PELVIS: Noncontributory.

JOINTS: Trace to 1+ effusion. Subtle laminar area of hypointensity in the superior lateral acetabular rim cartilage, best seen on series 201, image 9, is consistent with early acetabular abrasion. Small intraarticular foveal rim spurs.

ACETABULUM/LABRUM: Anterosuperior short-segment labral tear adjacent to acetabular abrasion subtly seen as discontinuity in the coronal projection but better seen in the sagittal projection. Small acetabular rim ossicle as described above.

MUSCLES/TENDONS/LIGAMENTS: Ligamentum teres insertion swollen. Transverse ligament normal. Iliofemoral ligament normal. Abductors, adductors, flexors and extensors normal. No muscular atrophy.

OTHER/SOFT TISSUE: Noncontributory.

Conclusion
Cam impingement with acetabular impingement and small labral tear.
