Coronal Anatomy: Extrinsic Ligaments Part 4

HIDE
PrevNext

0:01

Here's a coronal T1 MRI,

0:04

a little more ulnar or mesially.

0:07

We have this structure right here, which is the

0:12

radiolunate ligament or radiolunatotriquetral ligament.

0:16

But the one we're more interested in

0:17

is this one that goes across the waist

0:20

and more distal aspect of the scaphoid.

0:23

You can't actually see the origin very well from the

0:25

radial styloid, but it's right back in this locus here.

0:29

And then we follow it up towards the capitate,

0:32

and we can vaguely get an idea of where

0:34

it inserts on the base of the capitate.

0:36

The radioscaphocapitate, or sling ligament,

0:40

supporting stabilization of the scaphoid,

0:43

along with the scapholunate ligament, which

0:46

we also see, and the scaphotrapeziotrapezoid

0:50

ligaments, which we have pointed out before.
