Intraconal, Conal and Extraconal Anatomy

HIDE

0:00

Having dealt with the ocular lesions this far,

0:03

we're now going to move into the

0:05

other portions of the orbit.

0:07

These are organized according to the intraconal space

0:14

and the conal space, including the muscle cone.

0:18

And then we will also deal with extraconal lesions,

0:21

largely around the paranasal sinuses,

0:23

bone and fat and nerves.

0:26

So we'll begin classically with the intraconal

0:29

space, and as you can see,

0:30

it's going to be dominated by the optic

0:32

nerve and the optic nerve sheath,

0:34

as well as the retrobulbar fat and the nerves and

0:38

vessels that run through the retrobulbar fat.
