Parotid Lymphoma on CT

HIDE
PrevNext

0:00

CT scan of a patient with a right

0:03

sided parotid palpable mass.

0:07

Going through the neck region,

0:09

we come upon this well-defined mass in the right parotid

0:13

tail. Here we are down at the angle of the mandible,

0:16

the tail of the parotid gland, extends upward somewhat

0:20

in the superficial portion. It seems very well-defined.

0:24

I might consider a cyst.

0:26

So we want to do maybe an ultrasound-guided aspiration.

0:30

If it's palpable, they could just do it,

0:33

you know, themselves.

0:33

In this case, we look for lymph nodes,

0:36

since the issue was lymphoma, and no lymph

0:40

nodes seen that are enlarged.

0:43

And at this point, we would say well, well-defined mass,

0:48

probably benign.

0:50

Would not have suspected

0:51

lymphoma in this particular case.

0:53

Let's see.

0:54

I think this patient also had a PET,

0:57

a PET scan.

0:59

So let us look in the next section for a PET scan.
