EXAM: Hip Ultrasound (US)
INDICATION: 2-month-old girl with breech positioning in utero.
TECHNIQUE: Ultrasound imaging of the hips was obtained using two-dimensional grayscale imaging.
FINDINGS:
Right Hip:
The right superior bony acetabular rim is sharp with an alpha angle of 62 degrees and acetabular roof coverage of the femoral head is satisfactory.
Left Hip:
The left superior bony acetabular rim is dysplastic with an alpha angle of 32 degrees and acetabular roof coverage of the femoral head is insufficient.
IMPRESSIONS:
1. There is severe left hip developmental dysplasia, Graf type III.
2. The right hip is normal.
