CASE HISTORY
Cervical dystonia.

TECHNICAL FACTORS
The examination was performed on a 1.5 Tesla superconducting magnet. Sagittal and coronal imaging was performed. Imaging was performed in both open-mouth and closed-mouth positioning.

KEY IMAGES
This case has no key images.

CASE FINDINGS
On the right narrowing of the temporomandibular joint is identified with osteophyte formation involving the anterior aspect of the condyloid process. Anterior displacement of the right temporomandibular joint meniscus is identified in both closed- and open-mouth positioning. The left temporomandibular joint meniscus exhibits signal intensity changes consistent with degeneration but there is no evidence of anterior meniscal displacement on the left.

CASE CONCLUSION
- Anterior displacement of the right temporomandibular joint meniscus in both open- and closed-mouth positioning with marked meniscal fraying.
- Osteoarthritis of the right temporomandibular joint with joint narrowing and anterior osteophyte formation involving the condyloid process.
- On the left no anterior displacement of the temporomandibular joint meniscus is observed.
