Our next case is a 50-year-old woman with
0:05
a recent diagnosis of left breast cancer.
0:08
Three biopsies had already been performed,
0:11
all showing cancer, and we were doing the
0:16
MRI for evaluation of extent of disease.
0:20
So this is our MIP for this patient,
0:24
basically showing a large area of
0:26
segmental enhancement in the left breast.
0:30
Pull in some of our other images
0:34
just to show those, and she has
0:36
heterogeneous fibroglandular tissue.
0:38
Her background parenchymal enhancement is,
0:41
relatively mild, but then we get into this
0:44
segmental non-mass enhancement on the left side,
0:50
and this covers a large area.
0:54
Let's see here,
0:58
most of the lateral aspect of her breast.
1:04
Some of it is more distorted and mass-like.
1:07
The rest of it is more non-mass, and then
1:12
she had, she had already had a few different
1:17
biopsies, and they were all positive for
1:20
breast cancer, and mastectomy was planned.
1:26
Most of what we were doing was screening
1:29
the other side, and she did have, she
1:32
did have a few foci of enhancement.
1:38
Nothing really stood out, and no
1:42
additional biopsies were recommended.
1:44
So this is considered, uh, BI-RADS 6 exam.
