Our next patient is a 53-year-old woman

0:03

recalled from screening mammography for

0:05

evaluation of left breast calcifications.

0:09

These are the screening views for this patient,

0:12

and we can see in the left upper breast,

0:17

left central breast, central upper breast,

0:20

there are coarse heterogeneous calcifications in

0:23

sort of a linear or maybe small segmental

0:26

region, and you can see them here,

0:31

coarse heterogeneous calcifications, a little bit

0:33

of a triangle shape to their distribution.

0:39

There it is.

0:41

And this was new from her prior examination.

0:44

So we went ahead and recalled her to

0:48

do some additional views, and that

0:51

included CC and lateral magnification views.

0:56

Here's the lateral magnification view.

0:58

You just see these calcifications

1:00

a little bit better.

1:02

So they're coarse heterogeneous,

1:05

and kind of a segmental distribution.

1:10

And this is the CC magnification view.

1:13

Again, just showing those coarse heterogeneous

1:18

calcifications and their distribution.

1:20

So these are suspicious, and we

1:23

recommended mammogram-guided biopsy,

1:27

and this was ductal carcinoma in situ.
