Our next case is a 54-year-old woman,

0:03

recalled for evaluation of calcifications

0:05

in the left upper outer breast.

0:08

So here's our screening views for this

0:11

patient, and there were some calcifications

0:13

in the left upper outer breast.

0:15

So if we magnify these a little bit,

0:18

it was this, this area of calcifications here.

0:24

If you look at the CC view, on the CC view,

0:27

it looks like there's some scattered calcifications.

0:30

It's difficult to see a group.

0:33

So when we brought the patient

0:34

back, we did magnification views

0:37

in the CC and lateral projection.

0:41

So here's the CC view.

0:44

And there are some scattered calcifications.

0:46

It's difficult to see a group.

0:48

They're fairly smudgy looking.

0:51

And then in the lateral view,

0:54

the calcifications of interest form layers.

0:59

So you can see these sort of lines and

1:02

almost like little teacups or menisci.

1:04

There's little layers here.

1:07

This is a total change from

1:09

how they looked on the CC view.

1:12

And this is consistent with

1:13

benign milk of calcium.

1:15

So we don't need to do anything further with this.

1:18

And there are a couple of round

1:19

calcifications in that area as well, but the.

1:22

Calcifications of interest were benign

1:24

milk of calcium, and that's related

1:27

to calcifications or calcium deposits

1:30

layering within microcysts in the breast.

1:34

The cysts may be so small that you don't see

1:36

the cysts, but you see the calcifications.
