<div>HISTORY:&#160;This 37-year-old female presents with pain, crepitus, and swelling of the right forearm.(QUIZ ANSWER) PRIMARY FINDING IN THIS CASE:&#160;Intersection syndrome.Using the&#160;diagnostic web viewer, we have provided images that assist in telling our clinical story. Areas of significance are indicated below.FINDINGS: The bones are in anatomic alignment. The bone marrow signal is normal. No evidence of occult fracture, stress fracture, or bone contusion.&#160;Moderate inflammation and swelling noted about the 1st extensor compartment tendons (abductor pollicis longus and extensor pollicis brevis) and the 2nd extensor compartment tendons (extensor carpi radialis longus and extensor carpi radialis brevis) within the proximal forearm at the level of the distal radial shaft consistent with intersection syndrome (overuse tenosynovitis). Moderate adjacent soft tissue inflammation and edema of the extensor carpi radialis brevis and longus muscles noted. Moderate perifascial edema and periosteal edema also noted.&#160;No soft tissue mass.&#160;Overlying subcutaneous edema is identified.&#160;CONCLUSION:Findings consistent with overuse tenosynovitis / intersection syndrome (proximal type) involving the 1st and 2nd extensor compartment groups with moderate surrounding soft tissue inflammation, inflammation of the carpi radialis muscle and overlying subcutaneous edema.</div>
