<div>HISTORY:&#160;This 65-year-old female presents with left forearm swelling and burning. The patient has dermatomyositis. Concern for myositis or other cause of swelling. Failed improvement with blood thinners.(QUIZ ANSWER) CAN BE EXCLUDED, IN THIS CASE:&#160;Clinical compartment syndrome.Using the&#160;diagnostic web viewer, we have provided images that assist in telling our clinical story. Areas of significance are indicated below.FINDINGS: Moderate myoedema involves all of the extensor muscles from their origins distally to the level of the wrist. In addition, moderate noncomplex subcutaneous edema especially evident posterior to the olecranon. The flexor muscles are overall unremarkable. The tendons are intact throughout.&#160;Intrinsic signal it of the osseous structures well maintained. Vascular structures unremarkable.&#160;CONCLUSION:&#160;1. Moderate myoedema involving all of the extensors. This can be seen in myositis such as dermatomyositis / polymyositis. With such swelling, exclude clinical compartment syndrome.2. Extensive noncomplex subcutaneous edema.&#160;3. Remainder of the examination unremarkable as described above.</div>
