Case 11 - 15-year-old male presents with finger pain in right hand

<div>HISTORY:&#160;This 15-year-old male presents with finger pain in the right hand after a soccer injury.MILDLY EXPANSILE CYST LESION WITH FOCAL CORTICAL BREAK OF THE PROXIMAL PHALANX OF WHICH FINGER:5th.Using the&#160;diagnostic web viewer, we have provided images that assist in telling our clinical story. Areas of significance are indicated below.FINDINGS: Mildly expansile cyst lesion in the proximal phalanx of the small finger with focal cortical break. Periosteal edema. The lesion is 2.2cm in length. Physis normal in appearance. No bony macrofracture or contusion in the remaining hand.&#160;Flexor and extensor tendons intact.&#160;No acute ligamentous sprain. No substantive joint effusion.&#160;CONCLUSION:&#160;Mildly expansile cyst lesion with focal cortical break of the proximal phalanx of the 5th finger, probably represents an enchondroma with post-traumatic pathological fracture. Other differential includes chondromyxoid fibroma, aneurysmal bone cyst and least likely unicameral bone cyst. X-ray reviewed.</div>
