Case 4 - 15-year-old male presents with pain and lump on right hand

<div>HISTORY:&#160;This 15-year-old male presents with pain and a small lump at the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint of the right hand after a fall four weeks prior.PRIMARY FINDING:&#160;Hematoma.Using the&#160;diagnostic web viewer, we have provided images that assist in telling our clinical story. Areas of significance are indicated below.FINDINGS: Physes are open. No osseous fracture or mass is demonstrated. Complex signal within the subcutis tissues superficial to the MCP joint of the 5th digit for which a region of evolving hematoma is favored. This is slit-like and measures approximately 6.5 x 2.5 x 3mm in size. No flexor or extensor tendon tear is demonstrated.&#160;Mild paraphyseal marrow reaction at the level of the distal metacarpals is favored to be developmental as it is symmetric throughout the hand.&#160;CONCLUSION:&#160;1. Slit-like soft tissue hematoma superficial to the 5th MCP joint. No flexor or extensor tendon tear is demonstrated.&#160;2. No fracture, AVN or mass.&#160;3. Please see above.</div>
