Case 10 - 63-year-old female presents with right groin pain

<div>HISTORY:&#160;This 63-year-old female presents with right groin pain radiating lateral and posterior.A PRIMARY FINDING:&#160;Partial tear of conjoined tendon.Using the&#160;diagnostic web viewer, we have provided images that assist in telling our clinical story. Areas of significance are indicated below.FINDINGS: A hypertrophic partial-thickness tear of the conjoined tendon namely the semitendinosus and biceps femoris is noted at the hamstring origin with only scant involvement of the medial aspect of the semimembranosus. No macrofiber retraction is present and the tear demonstrates two components, one inferiorly that is more globular and the other more laminar or slit-like as a peel. The ischial tuberosity is unremarkable. The adductor magnus and sacrotuberous and spinous ligaments are unremarkable.&#160;With regard to lateral pain, gluteus medius tendinopathy and mild gluteus maximus bursal swelling is present.&#160;With regard to groin pain, no etiology is discerned. No hernia, entrapment neuropathy, or hip flexor abnormality is identified. The labrum is normal.&#160;Incidentally noted is rectus diastasis from prior surgery.&#160;CONCLUSION:&#160;1. Two findings that include a) partial tear of the conjoined tendon with at least two separate components, nonretracted, b) knot sign of the greater tuberosity with gluteus medius insertional microtrauma and resultant middle facet and posterior facet bursitis.&#160;2. Hip labrum intact.</div>
