Case 1 - 16-year-old male has a right arm contusion after blunt trauma

<div>HISTORY: This 16-year-old male has a right arm contusion after blunt trauma with ecchymosis and some soreness over tendon following a recent lacrosse injury.PRIMARY FINDING: Grade 1 pennate architectural myotendinous unit tear&#160;of the brachialis muscleUsing the diagnostic web viewer, we have provided images that assist in telling our clinical story. Areas of significance are indicated below.FINDINGS:&#160;Skeletal: No acute fracture or contusion.&#160;Tendons: Biceps, triceps intact. Note diffuse subcutis edema is seen in the superficial lateral upper arm with subjacent pennate infiltrative grade 1 tear of the myotendinous brachialis and nominal amount of intramuscular edema and subfascial tearing of the proximal lateral biceps. Biceps tendon and myotendinous junction intact except for 4mm focus in proximity to the antecubital vein.&#160;Radial/Ulnar Ligaments and Tendon Origins: Radial collateral and LUCL ligaments intact. Normal signal intensity common extensor tendon origin. Ulnar collateral ligament intact. Normal signal intensity common flexor tendon origin.&#160;Joint Space/Cartilage: Preserved signal intensity without osteochondral lesion or loose bodies.&#160;Ulnar Nerve/Anconeus: Normal signal intensity.&#160;No soft tissue mass. Overlying subcutis edema.&#160;CONCLUSION:&#160;1. Grade 1 pennate architectural myotendinous unit partial tear brachialis muscle. Trace myotendinous edema of the posterior most distal biceps. Tendon signal intact otherwise. Overlying subcutis edema.&#160;2. Longitudinal striated intramuscular edema extends for greater than 6cm in the sagittal plane.</div>
