Case 15 - 21-year-old male presents with sharp pain in right elbow

<div>HISTORY:&#160;This 21-year-old male presents with sharp pain, swelling, and weakness in right elbow after baseball injury.(QUIZ ANSWER) NOT A FINDING IN THIS CASE:&#160;High grade strain of common extensor tendon.Using the&#160;diagnostic web viewer, we have provided images that assist in telling our clinical story. Areas of significance are indicated below.FINDINGS: Microtrabecular contusion of the proximal radius, no macrofracture. The radial collateral ligament is intact. High grade sprain of the ulnar collateral ligament at proximal attachment primarily involving the posterior band. Subtle distal sublime tubercle UCL "peel" injury. Low grade strain of common flexor tendon. No tear. Common extensor tendon intact.&#160;The biceps and triceps tendon intact.&#160;Moderate amount of joint effusion. Small area of low grade strain of extensor digitorum muscle.&#160;Ulnar nerve normal in caliber.&#160;Diffuse subcutaneous tissue edema lateral elbow.&#160;IMPRESSION: Right Elbow: Valgus injury with microtrabecular contusion of proximal radius and high grade sprain of proximal ulnar collateral ligament primarily involving the posterior band. Subtle distal sublime tubercle UCL "peel" injury.&#160;Moderate joint effusion.&#160;Small area of low grade strain of extensor digitorum muscle.&#160;Thank you for your referral in this case.</div>
